Social Security Pensions
Social Security Pensions provided by the Government of Kerala are financial assistance provided to economically backward senior citizens, widows, persons with disabilities, agricultural labourers, unmarried women above 50 years of age, etc. Eligible persons receive monthly pensions, which help them meet their basic living expenses.
Currently, the rate of major social security pensions is ₹2,000 per month.
Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension

Documents to be uploaded while e-Filing
- Any one of the following documents to prove age: school record, birth certificate, passport, or driving licence.
- Ration card or any other document showing address to prove permanent residence.
- Certificate from the Village Officer to prove income [G.O.(MS) 97/2020/Fin dated 23/09/2020]
- Aadhaar
Eligibility Criteria
- Family annual income limit is Rs. 1,00,000.
- Must have completed sixty years of age.
- Must have permanent residence in the State of Kerala for at least three years [G.O.(P.) 47/95/SCD dated 13.12.95]
- The applicant should not be a service pensioner/family pensioner.
- The applicant should not be an income tax payer.
- The applicant or the family should not own more than two acres of property (not applicable to Scheduled Tribe categories).
- Should not be residing in houses having an area of more than 2000 sq. ft., modern flooring and concrete construction.
- The family should not own non-taxi vehicles with an engine capacity of more than 1000 CC, except Ambassador cars.
- Should not have an air conditioner in the house of residence.

Widow Pension

Documents to be uploaded while e-Filing
- In case of a widow, the husband's death certificate.
- In the case of women above 50 years of age whose husbands have abandoned them for seven years and who have not remarried, and women whose husbands have been missing for more than seven years, a certificate from the Village Officer regarding the same. [G.O.(MS)97/2020/Fin dated 23.09.2020]
- Documents proving that the applicant has been a permanent resident of Kerala for at least two years at the time of submitting the application (ration card/copies of other documents proving address).
- Certificate from the Village Officer to prove income [G.O.(MS)97/2020/Fin dated 23.09.2020]
Eligibility Criteria
- Family annual income limit is Rs. 1,00,000.
- Must have permanent residence in the State of Kerala for at least three years [G.O.(P.) 47/95/SCD dated 13.12.95]

- Application in the prescribed form.
- A document proving permanent residence (ration card/copies of other documents showing address).
- Medical certificate from the concerned authority in accordance with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017 (in Forms V, VI and VII) to prove disability.
- Certificate from the Village Officer to prove income [G.O.(MS) 97/2020/Fin dated 23/09/2020]
- Copy of Aadhaar Card.
Eligibility Criteria
- Family annual income limit - Rs. 1,00,000.
- No age limit.
- The applicant should not be a service pensioner/family pensioner.
- The applicant should not be an income tax payer.
- The applicant or the family should not own more than two acres of property (not applicable to Scheduled Tribe categories).
- Should not be residing in houses having an area of more than 2000 sq. ft., modern flooring and a concrete roof, or have a non-taxi vehicle with an engine capacity of more than 1000 CC in the family, except an Ambassador car.

Pension for Unmarried Women Above 50 Years of Age

- Certificate from the Village Officer proving that she is unmarried, her income and age - the format and other documents are those included in the Old Age Pension application.
- Aadhaar Card.
Eligibility Criteria
- Family annual income limit - Rs. 1,00,000.
- Must have completed fifty years of age.
- Must have permanent residence in the State of Kerala [G.O(Rt)No.14/2001/SCD dated 31.03.2001]
- The applicant should not be a service pensioner/family pensioner.
- The applicant should not be an income tax payer.
- The applicant or the family should not own more than two acres of land (not applicable to Scheduled Tribe categories).
- Should not be residing in houses having an area of more than 2000 sq. ft., modern flooring and concrete construction.
- The family should not own non-taxi vehicles with an engine capacity of more than 1000 CC, except Ambassador cars.
- Should not have an air conditioner in the house of residence.

Agricultural Labour Pension

Documents to be uploaded while e-Filing
- Application in the prescribed form.
- Release certificate from the Agricultural Labour Welfare Fund Board.
- To prove age, school records, birth certificate, driving licence or copy of passport must be produced.
- Document proving permanent residence (ration card, etc.).
- Income certificate from the Village Office.
- A self-certified statement stating that the applicant is not an income tax payer, is not a service pensioner, and that neither the applicant nor the family owns more than two acres of land (not applicable to Scheduled Tribe categories) (Annexure-25).
- Aadhaar Card.
Eligibility Criteria
- Family annual income should not exceed one lakh rupees.
- Must have completed sixty years of age.
- Must have been released from membership of the Agricultural Labour Welfare Fund.
- A document proving permanent residence in Kerala for at least 10 consecutive years immediately preceding the application.
- Should not be residing in houses having an area of more than 2000 sq. ft., modern flooring and concrete construction, or have a non-taxi vehicle with an engine capacity of more than 1000 CC in the family, except an Ambassador car.
